Instructor Development Course (IDC)

During this scuba diving instructor course you will learn how to teach other people to dive.
This is the final step before beginning your new professional diving career.

But don’t get stressed, we’ll make sure your training is easy and relaxed.

To complete the course you’ll have to pass the Instructor Exam after which you’ll get your Instructor certification.The Course Directors and IDC staff Instructors will give you their full attention and 100% of their time to ensure your success.

During the dive instructor course we’ll teach you how to use the PADI system to teach in class, pool, and open water.

We will review several topics related to the written exams taken during the IE. You’ll take sample exams to identify areas of strength and weakness. You’ll find the learning enjoyable and very helpful. During the IDC we will also be teaching the EFR Instructor course.

The duration of Instructor Development Course is 10 days plus 2 days of Instructor Exam, so you’ll have 12 fun-filled training days in the Dominican Republic. You’ll find the IE schedule for the Dominican Republic here.

Diver Prerequisites

•    PADI Divemaster or equivalent certification for at least 6 months and 100 logged dives
•    Be 18 years of age or older
•    A medical statement confirming you are “Fit for Scuba Diving”.
•    Your own dive equipment, including a dive computer, knife, surface marker and whistle.
•    Rental equipment available, with option to buy. Or the option of buying new equipment.
